The software issue may have been more my fault, I just had a hard time getting the video to transfer to the computer for burning to disk. Very small and takes a good quality picture. Manual could have been a little simpler to understand. My complaints are that I wish the battery would last longer and I had some trouble getting the software to work on my computer. There is a larger battery available that should hold a charge longer, I just wish it would have come with that battery. Finally got it all figured out and working fine. I'm sure the camera is capable of more than I will use it for.
this is video camera is not compatible with Window's vista. I didn't try to download and try until after the warranty had un be known to me expired. the program that comes with it. STINKS. I bought an expensive DVD player that only plays what is on this camcorder. on the look again but will NOT buy a JVC.
seriously an amazing camera. Very easy to use, cute, small, and portable. great features for both beginners and more advanced users.
This is a great buy for filming stuff outdoors. This camcorder is a great buy for the money and comes with everything you need to get started. I bought this camcorder because I wanted to have one I could hook up to my computer and use iMovie to edit and burn to a DVD. The battery life is about 1.5 hours with the standard battery so I would recommend buying a second battery. The LCD screen is crisp and the quality, when on its highest setting, is very good. This camcorder is compatible with iMovie and is small enough to go most places easily. The recording time on the highest quality setting is a little over 7 hours so it will do most work just fine. A good entry-level camcorder.
And as others have said, the color is so-so and if zoomed in you just about need a tri-pod, I can't hold it steady enough. You need the USB driver for this thing to work with your computer. I've had this camera for a year + now. I couldn't find it of course. Yea, after spending a few hundred on their camera they insisted on another handful of money for the USB driver to use it. But I have discover a HUGE problem. Well, they don't offer any drivers or software.just updates.
I googled for the driver on the internet and found nothing, nothing but people with the same problem. It does a decent job. Oh, you can use Windows Movie or some other program but most can't find the camera and are really a big pain to use. After updating to Vista I needed the install disc that came with the camera. I thought no problem, I'll just download it fro the JVC site. You can buy (of course) the disc from the JVC Accessory store on there site for a mere 40 bucks. Not very good customer relations if you ask me.Anyway, if you need the part number of the disk it's.LY32210-079A20% off code JVCPROMODP1712 Let's see if Amazon kills this review ":^)Don't get me wrong, for the money, I really like this camera.
